Well positioned against corruption

External auditors have examined Deutsche Telekom's compliance management and confirmed that the Group is well positioned against corruption.

Deutsche Telekom’s Compliance Management System is audited externally on a regular basis. This enables us to ensure that we systematically counteract risks and have established effective processes.

Therefore, Deutsche Telekom has been audited regularly according to the Assurance Standard 980 of the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany (IDW PS 980), with a focus on prevention of corruption.

Moreover, Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies worldwide, who has already successfully gone through an ISO Standard 37001 certification.

Assurance Standard 980, delineated area anti-corruption

In 2020 and 2021, Deutsche Telekom AG as well as eight subsidiaries in Germany and 13 subsidiaries outside of Germany were audited by independent public auditors. As a result, the auditors confirmed the compliance management system of all audited companies to be appropriate and effective. Focus of the audit were processes of the compliance organization as well as processes of areas exposed to a potential risk of corruption (e. g. procurement, sales, events, sponsoring, donations, human resources, mergers & acquisitions). You can download the summary report and selected individual reports in the right column.

In 2024, a new review of the effectiveness of the compliance management system will start. In a first step, Deutsche Telekom AG as well as German subsidiaries selected in a risk-oriented manner are audited. Selected foreign subsidiaries will then be audited in 2025.

Already in 2010, 2013 and 2016/2017 auditors confirmed that in accordance with assurance standard 980 the compliance organization of Deutsche Telekom AG and selected national and international subsidiaries is well positioned to contain corruption risks in the company.

Certification according to ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management Systems)

The ISO Standard 37001 regarding Anti-Bribery-Management-Systems was published in October 2016. Deutsche Telekom AG is one of the first companies world-wide to have been successfully certified in 2017.
